Caleb is a policy and regulatory consultancy that has been active in the field of chemical regulation since its inception in 1994. Throughout this period the company has delivered objective advisory, consultation and mediation services to industry and regulators on matters as diverse as climate change, ozone depletion and chemical risk assessment. As part of this activity, Caleb now manages a number of chemical-specific global task forces targeted at assessing data/data-gaps and managing projects to fill these data-gaps prior to submission of dossiers to programmes such as US HPV Challenge and OECD SIDS. These activities are a clear forerunner to the requirements of REACH and, trading on this experience, Caleb anticipates being a future leader in the field of REACH consortium management.

Caleb is therefore seeking motivated individuals with the following characteristics:

o Degree or equivalent in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental sciences or related subject

o At least five years experience in a relevant research, testing, regulatory or industrial setting

o Demonstrable track record in project management

In addition to these core competences, experience in business and/or strategic management would be an advantage. Above all, successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a multi disciplinary team, largely from major chemical companies, and to arbitrate in matters of commercial consequence.

A competitive basic salary is offered together with a generous income-related bonus, car allowance and pension. Location is flexible, although considerable travel can be expected.

Since Caleb is seeking to employ more than one individual for this role and seeks a mixed age profile, applications are sought from candidates at all qualifying stages of the career cycle.
