Sustainable Procurement
Chemical Risk Disclosure and Reputation Damage From Your Supply Chain
A company’s reputation is arguably its greatest asset. Yet companies often gamble with their reputations by not assessing the risks that may exist within the practices of their own organisations or in the practices of their supply chains. For example, would you know:
• Whether there is any use of child labour in your supply chain?
• Whether there are any substances (chemicals) of very high concern in the products you buy?
Do you know what your customers are expecting of you in this regard? Would any failure in your systems compromise your customers? What would be the cost of this in reputational and financial terms?
Caleb works with its clients to characterise the risks that might exist within their activities and the supply chains they use, and develops means of identifying potential sources of risk through the tailoring of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires and the evaluation of responses. In addition, Caleb develops strategies with its clients and their supply chains to actively manage risks and assess the validity of environmental and other claims.
Finally, Caleb assists its clients in communicating with their customer base and with other stakeholders via their Sustainability Reports and other relevant vehicles to demonstrate the level of scrutiny applied to reputational risks and wider sustainable procurement issues. In this way, clients are able to maximise reputational benefits and add value to their brands.
